On Monday, some of our Year 4 and 5 children travelled to the New Wimbledon Theatre for Wimbledon BookFest's author event with Kevin and Katie Tsang. The children recieved a copy of their new book, 'Dragon Force: Infinity's Secret' and even got them signed by the authors!

In an enriching excursion, Year 6 embarked on a memorable journey to the Imperial War Museum London in London this Monday. Immersed in their term-long exploration of Conflict and Resolution in History, particularly delving into the narratives of World War 1 and World War 2, the students embraced the opportunity to witness history firsthand. Venturing via tube and bus, they arrived eager to delve into the past. Beginning with the World War 1 floor, they engaged with authentic artifacts, followed by an insightful talk from museum staff. The day continued with an exploration of the World War 2 exhibits. The children's conduct was exemplary throughout, with staff noting their enthusiasm and deep engagement.

Welcome to the Wizarding World of Year 5. As you may have guessed, we have been studying Harry Potter in English. We have been writing persuasive pieces, selling broomsticks and tickets to our very own Knight Bus; creating descriptions, of Hogwarts and the professors; producing our own narratives, finishing the Prisoner of Azkaban in the style of J.K Rowling; and writing a commentary for a Quidditch match. All these pieces of writing have been 'magical'. The Professors have been stunned by the progress they have seen in our student wizards' use of specific literary features. To conclude our topic, we visited Harry Potter Studios and absolutely LOVED it! Seeing the sets and props up close was such a treat. The staff there commented on how polite the children were and, as teachers, we were incredibly proud of them.
